Baby Blue

My favorite pieces to crochet have always been baby things. They are so delicate and cute, and never take very long. The problem is that all the mothers in my life keep having baby boys! So I don't get to make frilly lace things... But, the cuteness still is overwhelming.
This little sweater was made using a vintage pattern

I got a kit from hobby lobby to knit this little guy

This hat is big enough to fit me. A pattern from a vintage baby book, not very successful. When using vintage patterns be sure to check the Gage often, and don't be surprised if it doesn't work at all. Vintage patterns use vintage yarns which are very diffferent from the baby yarns we have today.
This baby blanket was also made using a vintage pattern. I loved the pattern, but the colored thread obscured it. Oh well, its still pretty.

These little booties were made using a pattern from Crochet Today Magazine. Aren't they adorable?
Baby clothes are very cute, but when crafting baby things for the first time, don't be afraid to pick something simple. As simple as these all look, they took many hours to create, and were full of problems. Between making sure your gage is right and sewing things together, lots of things can go wrong.
