This dress turned out great, through many compilations. It took me less than a week, and would've taken less time if I didn't melt one of the sleeves and have a panic attack.
I made it using a vintage pattern that was regrettably a few inches too small. So I had to shrink down to 1/4" seam allowances to get me in the thing, and still it was tight. The only thing I didn't like about the pattern was that the bands on the sleeves were way too tight even at 1/4" seam allowances.
I liked the pattern alot, and it wasn't overly complicated, despite all the darts. Bah, I hate darts. Princess seams are so much better. Anyway... The fabric I used was the real problem. It was a red tag fabric from Joanns that I didn't really look at too closely before I bought it. I liked the color, and it was cheap, so I said the hell with it. But It rinkels like crazy, Irons horribly, and melts. Joyous.
But, The dress turned out good! Despite all the comments I got that I looked like a stewardess... Everyone in the 70s looked like a stewardess....
